The outreach component of the 2015-2016 Cole Middle School Global Studies class focused on Nicaragua. Throughout the year the CMS community supported the GS class in their efforts to assist the people of Nicaragua and in May we were able to send a 40 foot container to Nicaragua.
In July three Cole Middle School faculty members-- Katie hook, Jeanne-Marie Vaughn, and Phyllis Humphrey left Logan Airport to travel to Nicaragua to meet some of the recipients of the shipping container. Children of the faculty who joined the journey were Nancy, Mary Grace and James.

After a few delays we arrived at the Managua airport at about 3:00 am and went straight to the Best Western Hotel for some much needed sleep. Traveling can be exhausting!
